How to select companies in nifty next 50
From the entire list of companies on NSE, the top 50 large-cap companies are selected based on their free-float market cap and capitalization. The free-float market cap is calculated by multiplying the stock price of a company by the number of shares readily available in the market.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) arranges the companies in a hierarchical order based on their free-float market capitalization, and from this selection, it selects the top 50 companies to compose the Nifty 50 index.
